ZIPme cannot handle large zip files, or large quantities of apps

Anonymous shared this problem 4 years ago

ZIPme is in beta, and hasn't been updated in nearly 3 years, so I hope that this issue will be regarded.

I am having trouble signing very large (3GB+) zip files (containing all of my apps, and generated from Titanium Backup for this purpose). For the record, Titanium Backup can't finish the job either. By default TB uses ZipSigner (which must also be installed), and after creating the huge file, ZipSigner takes over and leaves a 1kb file in it's place, which is obviously unacceptable. If I choose not to sign the file when creating it in TB, ZIPme sits on trying to sign the file for a few seconds, and then stops. The file is never signed.

When I try to create and sign the zip of all my apps inside ZIPme, it also fails when I include a large quantity of apps in the zip. (it succeeds for 3, fails for all 340)

I'm interested in finding what the limitations are, and implementing an easy way to avoid failures.

I have the same problem with the ZIPme app and have been using an app in the Google Play Store called apk-signer has been able to do so.

The apk-signer app can sign apk, jar and zip and also has a great feature that will allow you to create your own custom signature too.

I wish you the best of luck!
